About Dementia Care

At St Anne’s, we understand that memory loss affects each person differently — and we recognise the unique challenges that come with living with dementia. Our dedicated Dementia Care Team is trained to support residents with compassion, patience, and deep respect for their individuality.

We take pride in delivering person-centred care that honours each resident’s preferences, routines, and life experiences. By truly getting to know each person, we’re able to create a familiar and enabling environment where residents feel safe, supported, and valued.

A Strengths-Based Approach to Living Well

Rather than focusing on what someone can no longer do, we focus on what they can do. Our strengths-based approach empowers residents to live meaningful lives filled with purpose, engagement, and joy.

Every resident living with dementia has an Individual Activity Plan, carefully designed to reflect their interests, abilities, and needs. Whether it’s music, gardening, art, or gentle movement, our activities are thoughtfully chosen to provide enjoyment, stimulation, and connection.

Nourishment and Connection Through Mealtimes

Good nutrition and hydration are essential to well-being, particularly for those living with dementia. Our chefs prepare specialised meals that cater to a variety of dietary needs, textures, and preferences.

We also encourage family-style dining, where residents share mealtimes with others — often supported by care staff who sit alongside them. This promotes social interaction, maintains familiar routines, and enhances the overall dining experience.

At St Anne’s, we are committed to helping residents living with dementia feel safe, understood, and at home. If you would like to learn more about our Dementia Care, we invite you to get in touch.
