Life With St Anne’s

A fundamental purpose of the Management team is to make life at St Anne’s House as normal as possible for its residents. The Home after all is their Home! The Management team thus are focused on ensuring residents remain stimulated, enjoy as much independence as they need and can sustain while also retaining their dignity and choice in every aspect of daily life.

From carers and nurses to activities co-ordinators to on-site chefs, our compassionate staff are all trained to use a person-centred approach in their care provision and spend time getting to know every resident’s likes, dislikes, and preferences.

Meaningful Activities

Recognising no two individuals are the same, our activities team can engage with the residents in a meaningful capacity whether it’s a planned group activity session or on a one-to-one basis.

Hair Salon

At St Anne’s, residents enjoy a luxurious on-site hair salon and treatment room designed to promote confidence, wellbeing, and relaxation. Regular hairdressing services and pampering treatments allow residents to look and feel their best without leaving the comfort of home. Our welcoming salon environment ensures each visit is enjoyable, personalised, and focused on enhancing both physical appearance and emotional wellbeing.

Food for the Soul

At St Anne’s we are determined to ensure every dish served whether is a full meal or a mid-afternoon snack is nutritious, varied and tastes fantastic.

Whether it’s a wholesome Shepherd’s Pie or an exotic gourmet delight, our cooks and chefs use the freshest local ingredients. All our menus provide variety and choice and for residents who simply wish for something different other than what’s being offered, if possible, St Anne’s cooks and chefs are happy to oblige! Meals are also complemented with snacks some baked inhouse and others not, so which are daily available. Beverage offerings extend to tea, coffee, juices, and other soft drinks.

Menus are created using feedback from residents with the aim to cater for everyone’s personal tastes and medical requirements.

Dietary Requirements

For residents that have difficulties in swallowing we modify the menu so that is it a soft, palatable dish. To support our chefs in producing these dishes, our chefs and deputy managers learn about dysphagia and producing these modified menus. The chef’s work is to prepare fork mash able and thick puree meals to the correct consistency, taste, and presentation.
